The first National Dengue related Death Review was held in the Auditorium of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media on the 6th of May 2026. It was chaired by Dr. Asela Gunawardena, the Director General of Health Services. Dr. S. M. Arnold, the Deputy Director General – Public Health Services 1 also graced the occasion. The NDCU team led by Director Dr. Kapila Kannangara and the Expert Committee to Review Dengue related Deaths 2025-2026 led by Dr. Srilal De Silva organized the meeting. Six dengue related deaths were discussed with the presence of the medical staff who managed the clinical treatment of the patient, the preventive health staff and the relevant medical administrators.
